PRE-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS

Expect to be here at least 2 hours on the day of surgery

Prior to procedure:

Read informed consent
Initial areas on informed consent
Call the office if you have any questions regarding informed consent
Fill prescriptions (if given by Dr. McClain) two days before procedure
Begin prescription antibiotics (if given by Dr. McClain) 2 days before procedure

Day of Procedure:

Arrive no later than am/pm on .
If you are to receive intravenous or nitrous oxide sedation, you will need a driver.
If you are to be sedated, do not eat after midnight, and only drink clear liquids (water, apple juice, Gatorade, etc.) after midnight.
Do not wear lipstick or heavy makeup
Bring your informed consent and payment. We accept cash, checks, American Express, VISA, and MasterCard.
If you have diabetes, please bring a snack as needed.
If you are currently taking medications, continue to take them as prescribed unless otherwise discussed. If you have started to take new medications please let us know. If you have any questions about medications, call us.
Dress comfortably with cool, loose clothing as you will be under a drape. Try to wear a top that you may not mind getting damp from any irrigation.
No cellular phones or pagers are allowed inside the surgical rooms
Due to the length of time anticipated on the day of surgery it is asked that you do not bring children. We are a dental facility and not equipped to accommodate them.

You will be given your post-operative appointment on the day of the procedure
